Canadian Community Health Survey results for 2016 released by Statistics Canada

 

Nationally, there was a decrease in current smoking from 17.7% to 16.9%., while daily smoking decreased from 12.6% to 12.0%. Current smoking rates are 19.4% among males and 14.5% among females. Daily smoking rates are 13.6% among males and 10.5% among females.


New Brunswick:
Current smoking prevalence: 19%
Daily smoking prevalence: 14%
