New Brunswickers Encouraged to Be Tobacco-Free Living Champions

MEDIA ADVISORY

NEW BRUNSWICK, MONDAY, MAY 11, 2015 –World No Tobacco Day 2015 is coming up this month on May 31st. The New Brunswick Anti-Tobacco Coalition is celebrating all month by inviting New Brunswickers to embrace and promote healthier tobacco-free lifestyles by becoming Tobacco-Free Living Champions.

The Coalition believes everyone can play a part in reducing tobacco use and making our province a healthier place to live, work and play. The Tobacco-Free Living Champion success stories showcase inspiring citizen-led tobacco cessation and tobacco-free living initiatives taking place all over the province.

Published on the coalition’s website (http://nbatc.ca/en/index.php?page=success_stories) and widely disseminated via social media, the campaign aims to showcase a new success story every month from which New Brunswickers can learn, get inspired, and take action towards tobacco-free living in their homes, workplaces and communities.

Stories currently showcased on the NBATC’s website include:

New Brunswickers who would like to share their tobacco-free living stories can do so by contacting the NBATC at info@nbatc.ca or sharing their comments via Twitter or Facebook using the #TobaccoFreeLiving #Champion hashtags. New stories will continue to be added to the website, which can be viewed at http://nbatc.ca/en/index.php?page=success_stories.

Members of the media are encouraged to profile and share these stories. Contact information for the Tobacco-Free Living Champions is available through the NBATC.
