2019 Western Canadian Tobacco Reduction Forum

Feb 1, 2019

2019 Western Canadian Tobacco Reduction Forum

The call for abstracts has been extended to February 4, 2019.

The Steering Committee for the 2019 Western Canadian Tobacco Reduction Forum is seeking individuals and organizations who are interested in sharing their current projects and research related to individuals/groups and setting that experience inequities in commercial tobacco use, exposure and harms. This includes successes, challenges and opportunities in prevention, policy and cessation with these individuals, groups and settings.  We are hoping that collectively, abstract submissions will cover evidence and learnings from a variety of these populations, settings and communities.
We invite researchers, programmers, evaluators, advocates, policy advisors, students, community developers, health professionals... anyone with research and lessons to share that others can take and apply in their work and/or communities.

Getting There Together will bring together individuals and organizations who champion tobacco reduction research, policy and practice from across western Canada with a focus on achieving a less than 5% smoking prevalence rate by 2035.

We are coming together to share, discuss and look for opportunities and partnerships to advance tobacco reduction and to address health disparities and inequities associated with commercial tobacco use.

Registration for the conference is now open! The conference takes place February 21st, 2019 in Edmonton, Alberta.
