Smoking Cessation and the Workplace Webinar discusses new research that explores smoking in the workplace, including why employers have a role to play in an integrated approach to smoking cessation programs.

 

Gather your colleagues for the upcoming webinar hosted by the New Brunswick Anti-Tobacco Coalition (NBATC), The Workplace Wellness Movement in New Brunswick, The Department of Healthy and Inclusive Communities and the Conference Board of Canada.


Smoking Cessation and the Workplace Webinar discusses new research that explores smoking in the workplace, including why employers have a role to play in an integrated approach to smoking cessation programs. This webinar explores barriers that employers face when trying to introduce or implement smoking cessation programs and showcases strategies that have made some organizations successful in reducing the number of employees who smoke. The session highlights recommendations to help guide employers to develop evidence-based smoking cessation programs in the workplace. In addition, the webinar discusses the cost of smoking, to employers and to the economy.
 
Presenter: Louise Chénier
Louise Chénier is a Manager, Workplace Health and Wellness Research with the Leadership and Human Resources Research Division of The Conference Board of Canada.  She is also the Network Manager for the Council on Workplace Health and Wellness – an exclusive network of organizational health management leaders from private and public sector organizations across Canada.
 
Since she joined the Conference Board seven years ago, she has participated in research on strategic human resources management; employee health, safety, and wellness; and diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
